This potentially record-breaking penthouse sits on the top floor of the controversial ‘toothpick’ building that is 432 Park Avenue, and the asking price is almost a quarter of a billion Aussie dollars.

The 6-bedroom, 7-bath home spans across the entire top floor and features floor-to-ceiling windows, boasting 360-degree views of the Big Apple decked out in Fendi, Bentley and Hermes furniture. However, the building hasn’t had the best reputation following design experts’ comments on its flaws and many previous residents claiming they feel nauseous with symptoms of vertigo.

The current owner, Fawaz Al Hokair, a Saudi real estate and retail mogul, is asking for almost twice what he paid in 2016, the modest fee of USD$87.7 million. The property has everything you’d expect from a modern apartment: the latest Miele appliances, oak cabinetry, oak flooring, marbled kitchens, double sinks and double dishwashers. 

Other sales from this building were from an anonymous buyer who has purchased three units on the 92nd and 93rd floor for approximately $91.12 million. 

If this property sells for its asking price, it will be placed as the 2nd most expensive home sale in US history after billionaire Ken Jacobs purchased a penthouse at 220 Central Park South for an eye-watering $333 million.
