Ranking in as the 12th largest superyacht ever built, ‘NORD’ was manufactured by German shipbuilding company Luerssen Yachts in collaboration with Nuvolari Lenard
Formerly known as OPUS, the 142 metre ‘warship in a suit’ is a marine masterpiece. Facilities include multiple pools and spas, saunas, a state-of-the-art gym, elevator, movie theatre, salon, zero speed stabilisers and two helicopter pads. NORD can accommodate 36 guests using 20 guest cabins and holds 40 onboard staff.

Despite the yacht’s outrageous size, NORD can also glide at an impressive speed of 20 knots or 37 km per hour. The ship carries a total of 10,154 gross tonnages and roughly 2,785 net tonnages. The beam stands 9.5 meters. The structure was built using aluminium, the hull is steel, and the draught is 5.4 metres.

Lurssen has a well-known reputation for manufacturing some of the largest and most luxurious yachts on earth. Previous builds include The Azzam, which has a worth of around USD$600 million and Al-Said at around USD$300 million.

The yacht was sold in 2015 for around USD$500 million and the buyer was Russian billionaire and mining magnate Alexei Mordashov.
